40%
of Gen Z students do not feel prepared for the future.

More Clarity helps students slow down, understand themselves, explore their options, ask better questions, make informed decisions, use their resources, take action, and follow through.
UNDERSTAND

Why this matters
40%
of Gen Z students do not feel prepared for the future.
Gallup / Walton Family Foundation, 2026 Voices of Gen ZFEWER THAN 30%
of high school students reported feeling very prepared to pursue the postsecondary pathways they were considering.
Gallup / Walton Family Foundation / Jobs for the Future, 2025372:1
was the national student-to-school-counselor ratio in 2024–25. ASCA recommends 250:1.
American School Counselor AssociationThese national findings describe a broader need. They are not More Clarity outcome data and do not show that More Clarity caused or solved these conditions.
Another important gap
68%
of Gen Z high schoolers said people had talked with them “a lot” about going to college.
23%
said the same about apprenticeships, certificate programs, or vocational programs.
19%
said the same about jobs that don't require a college degree.
Students deserve meaningful exposure to the possibilities available to them—and support understanding what those possibilities actually mean.
What I believe
College can be an incredible pathway.
So can community college, an apprenticeship, technical training, certification, entrepreneurship, or entering the workforce.
The goal isn't to push every student toward the same destination.
The goal is to help young people understand their options, know what each path requires, consider the opportunities and tradeoffs, connect those choices to the life they want to build, and make an informed decision they understand and can own.
Exposure + Understanding + Informed Choice + Action
The More Clarity approach
Students have access to more information than ever. But information alone doesn't teach a young person how to:
That's the space More Clarity is designed to support.
From having information to knowing what to do with it
This explains the gap More Clarity supports. It is not a second methodology. The More Clarity Method remains Explore → Identify → Understand → Choose → Act → Follow Through ↻.
What students are practicing
Recognize what matters, what you need, what you're interested in, and what you're working toward.
Learn what to ask when you need more information, don't understand something, or need help.
Sort through options and information without letting everything become overwhelming.
Consider priorities, possibilities, requirements, and tradeoffs before choosing.
Know when to ask for help, where to look, and how to bring trusted people into the process.
Turn thinking into action, reflect on what happens, and adjust when new information changes the picture.
Students are practicing:
More Clarity is designed to support students as they practice and strengthen these skills. This is not a claim of proven outcomes.
Supporting counselors, not replacing them
More Clarity is not designed to replace school counselors, educators, families, mentors, or other trusted adults.
It helps students organize their thinking so they can arrive at those conversations with more to work with.
A student may be better prepared to say:
“Here's what I'm thinking.”
“Here's what matters to me.”
“Here's what I don't understand.”
“Here's what I've already learned.”
“Here are the questions I still have.”
“Here's the next step I'm considering.”
That gives the adult something to work with.
Students can choose to share their More Clarity results with school counselors, parents or caregivers, mentors, and trusted adults. Sharing remains optional and student-controlled.
💡 MS. WORD SAYS
“Independence doesn't mean doing everything by yourself. Knowing when to ask for help—and knowing what to ask—is part of being ready.”
From engagement to insight
More Clarity is being designed so student use could eventually offer meaningful, student-reported indicators beyond simple tool completion.

These are developing, student-reported check-in concepts—not causal evidence or existing More Clarity outcome data.
Future measurement concept
A More Clarity Student Snapshot could eventually examine students' own reflections before, after, and following through on a tool.

The impact model
The goal isn't more information.
It's helping students know what to do with it.
How schools could use More Clarity
More Clarity does not need to become another curriculum students have to “get through.” Tools can be used when they match the question, decision, or transition a student is actually navigating.
One question. One tool. One clearer next step.
The More Clarity difference
Not
More information for students to consume.
Instead
Help making sense of information.
Not
Telling students which pathway to choose.
Instead
Helping students understand pathways and make informed choices.
Not
Replacing counselors.
Instead
Preparing students for better conversations with counselors and trusted adults.
Not
Another giant checklist.
Instead
A smaller next step.
Not
One decision and you're done.
Instead
Reflect. Learn. Adjust. Keep moving.
More Clarity is designed to help young people understand themselves, explore what's possible, make informed decisions, use their resources, and take the next step.
